The Winter in Ultental

Nature as far as the eye can see

The Schwemmalm ski area with its new cable car, which starts about 200 m from our nature residence and reaches up to 2600 m, has become one of the most snow-sure ski areas in South Tyrol and offers fantastic panoramic views of the Dolomites, the Brenta Group, and the surrounding three-thousanders of the Ortler Group.

First-class groomed slopes for all abilities. If you don't like downhill skiing, you can enjoy the 25 km long cross-country ski trail through the valley, past beautiful ancient farms, in a tranquility that is still hard to find. The snowshoe hiker also does not miss out and can explore the valley with its alpine pastures in the pure mountain air using our new snowshoe hiking map.

Whether it's ski touring, tobogganing, ice skating, or hiking, all of this is part of the snow fun.

Skiing & Snowboarding

The Schwemmalm ski area extends from 1,500 to 2,625 meters in altitude.

There are 25 km of various slopes with over 1000 meters of altitude difference.
In addition, all slopes can be snowed. The capacity of the chairlifts is 5380 people per hour, which, compared to the 1000 guest beds in the valley, guarantees free access to the lifts and plenty of space on the slopes.

Especially the newly developed slopes under the Mutegg are among the most beautiful in South Tyrol. They lead over wide, tree-free and sunny slopes. The longest descent is 5 km long with an altitude difference of 1100 m and is one of the great descents in South Tyrol.

A challenge in terms of terrain with steep passages is the Asmol slope, which leads from the Mutegg mountain station (2625 m) to the valley station (2200 m) of the chairlift.

The center of the ski area is a self-service restaurant with a large sun terrace at 1,900 meters. Here is also the practice lift for the ski school and the ski kindergarten Bärenhöhle with all-day care for the little skiers.
